Week 1
Neuro foundations pp6ff (35)
At 34:40 I say that you do not need to know the Nernst and Chord conductance equations. You DO need to KNOW those equations.
Week 2
Week 3
Neuro foundations p33 part 1 (30)
At 6:58 I say potassium when I should have said calcium.
Neuro foundations p33 part 2 (31)
At 22:27, I say losing sympathetic input into the mouth, I meant to say losing parasympathetic input into the mouth.
Neuro foundations pp40ff (22)
Note added notes about psilocybin, p41.
Week 4
Neuro foundations p45 (30)
Note added notes about buprenorphine and methadone, p45-46.
Autonomics p4 (20)
At 7:50, I circle M1 and say M2. I should have said M1.
Week 5
Exam 1 Through Neuro foundations Tuesday 2:00 PM February 11, 2025
Membrane Potential pp13ff (26)
Membrane Potential problems pp15ff (26)
Week 6
Week 7
Action Potential Problems pp22ff (16)
Action Potential Problems pp27ff (13)
Synapse pp3ff (22)
Beginning at 12:38 I say sarin inactivates acetylcholinesterase increasing ACh levels to bind to nAChR’s. This also affects ACh activity on mAChR’s as well. Atropine, an antidote to sarin, has a much greater affinity for mAChR’s compared to nAChR’s but at high doses it does bind to nAChR’s. Not only does sarin cause paralysis of skeletal muscles, it greatly affects the autonomic systems and CNS as well.
Week 8
Exam 2 Through Potassium Channels Tuesday 2:00 PM March 4, 2025
